And it\u2019s not a work of art depicting any homeless person; it\u2019s the bronze image of \u201cHomeless Jesus.\u201d\n\n\u201cI hope Pope Francis blesses our \u2018Homeless Jesus\u2019 when he\u2019s here,\u201d said Roland Woody, a Washington resident who was homeless until earlier this year. \u201cIt\u2019s kind of a symbol of hope for the homeless in D.C. If the pope blesses it, it will be even more special.\u201d\n\nIf the pope does bless the 7-foot-long statue, it will be the second one of its kind that he\u2019ll have done that for.\n\nPope Francis blessed a smaller version of the \u201cHomeless Jesus\u201d sculpture during a late November, 2013, general audience at the Vatican in front of thousands of pilgrims.\n\nAfterward, the pope told the sculptor, Timothy Schmalz of Toronto, that he thought it was a \u201cbeautiful piece of art\u201d and a wonderful representation of Jesus.\n\nSchmalz also created the \u201cHomeless Jesus\u201d statue in Washington, as well as similar sculptures in place in Toronto and several U.S. cities that include Denver, Phoenix and Chicago.","thumbnail_url":"http:\/\/vds.network.hu\/clubvideo\/5\/9\/8\/_\/598938_85213_2.jpg","thumbnail_width":80,"thumbnail_height":60,"video_id":"598938"}
